Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies of Broward County Announces 2011 Mother’s Day Luncheon Honoree Recipients

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL – Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies Coalition of Broward County is pleased to announce the 2011 Outstanding Individuals of the ear whom the agency will recognize publically at the 19th Annual Mother’s Day Luncheon at Hyatt Regency Pier 66 on Friday, May 6.

The 2011 honorees include:

• Beth Besner, Founder, I Care I Cure

• Susan Farver, Kids Have A Right

• Elise Gates, Royal Dames of Cancer Research

• Pauline Grant, CEO, North Broward Medical Center

• Candy Norton, Publisher, Lifestyles Magazine

• Joanne Sheinberg, YMCA Broward County

• Amy Stolberg, Kolot and Temple Kol Ami

• Jackie Merck, Outstanding Grandmother of the Year

• Dr. Eric Stelnicki, Facing it Together, Outstanding Father of the Year

• Dwight & Dinah Stephenson, D. Stephenson Foundation, Guardian Angels

“It’s an honor for us to have the opportunity to recognize this extraordinary group of women and men who go beyond their responsibilities as parents and citizens to impact the well-being for children in our community,” stated HMHB Director of Development, Babette Ferre-Kosar.

The Mother’s Day Celebration is the signature fund-raising event for Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies Coalition of Broward County. Hosted by NBC 6 meteorologist, Trina Robinson, the afternoon celebrates better health for mothers and babies, while raising much-needed funds to support the agency’s mission to reduce fetal and infant death through education and access to re-sources. Founded in 1987, the nonprofit agency is a proven community leader in providing services to pregnant women, teens and families. In addition to facilitating access to prenatal care and education for those unable to afford it, HMHB advocates for babies rights and safety issues to reduce infant mortality rates.
