HMHB of Broward Leads the Broward Community in Teaching Safe Sleep Practices

On Tuesday, September 27th 2011, Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies Coalition of Broward County, Inc. in collaboration with the Broward County Human Services Department, held their first :”Safe Sleep Summit”. The event was held at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. Over 160 attendees enjoyed breakfast and information regarding Safe Sleep Practices, SIDS and prevention of sleep related deaths. The panel of speakers included Dr. Rachel Moon, Chair of the American Academy of Pediatrics Task Force on SIDS; Dr. Richard Auerbach, from Sheridan Children’s Health Care; Dr. Khalil Wardak from the Broward Medical Examiiner; Dr. John Wright, Director for the Child
Protection Team of Broward County and HMHB Interim Executive
Director Michelle Reese. The event was free of charge thanks to the event sponsors: Mead
Johnson Nutrition, Plantation General Hospital, Abbott Nutrition
